About Us

Eat and Compete™ began in response to the obesity crisis currently plaguing our children and families in New York. Our company produces natural specialty food products with our customers in mind. Eat and Compete™ knows that the foods we consume can affect our state of mind and bodies either positively or negatively. We believe that eating well helps to put you in the right state of mind and body in order to be able to compete and succeed in the world, hence our name Eat and Compete™.

It is our mission to help by always offering great tasting natural specialty food products that transcend the spectrum of international tastebuds and benefit the mind and body. We support and enhance lives in the communities we serve by offering products that are socially and environmentally responsible.

We strive to lend greater community support to inner city food education programs that support and target disenfranchised urban youth.

What is a Truffle {Pronounced Truhf-uhl}?
There are 2 types of truffles, one of which is a fungus and the other, a delicious candy treat.

Although our bite-sized treats are called "truffles," they are not made of the chocolate, crème and other ingredients like most traditional truffles. Our truffles are made from Carob.

What is Carob? Carob is a tropical pod that contains an edible pulp and inedible seeds. It is a member of the legume family. After drying, the pulp is roasted and ground into a powder that resembles cocoa powder.

Carob is naturally sweet, and contains none of the bitterness associated with the cacao bean from which chocolate is derived. Recipes using carob usually require less sugar than recipes using cocoa power or natural chocolate.

Like Chocolate, does Carob contain Caffeine?
No. Unlike cocoa powder and chocolate, carob is caffeine-free and is also said to contain three times as much calcium as cocoa powder. More Carob News

How to use Better Butta™ Fruit and Nut Fusions?
Better Butta™ can be used as part of a breakfast, lunch, dinner or snack dish. It is also great for making desserts and special occasion hors d’oeuvres.

Some of our customers have made breakfast omelets and tofu dishes with it. They’ve used it in meat and poultry dishes, mashed potatoes and rice dishes. It’s great with ice cream, in baked products (cakes, cookies, pies…etc.), topping gourmet crackers and breads, and as a dip for raw vegetables during a dinner party.

How to store Better Butta™?
Better Butta™ lasts longer when refrigerated.

Is the product still good if it separates?
Yes. Because Better Butta™ is all natural, it may separate just as some salads dressing do. Just stir it and you are good to go.
